How Does the Ecoegg Laundry Egg Work?
Two types of mineral pellets work together to create a gentle, natural foam for washing that effectively but gently removes dirt and impurities.
Tourmaline ceramic pellets release impurities from textile fibers. White mineral pellets ionize oxygen molecules in the water, altering its pH. This modification allows the molecules to penetrate deep into the fabric's fibers, thoroughly removing proteins and fats - the two main components of dirt. The mechanical motion of the laundry egg in the drum during the washing cycle helps mechanically dislodge the loosened dirt without damaging the clothes.
Thanks to the ionized oxygen molecules, the water becomes alkaline during washing without the use of chemical substances. This contributes to the natural softening of the laundry. Alkaline water can actively and effectively remove dirt and impurities from clothes even at low temperatures.
How to Replace Mineral Pellets?
When you've used up the pellets in your Ecoegg laundry egg, don't discard the plastic casing. Just refill it with new pellets and use it again. This refill package contains 2 bags of mineral pellets and one bag of tourmaline pellets.
The white mineral pellets inside the egg shrink as you use them for washing. When they reduce in size to about half, it's time to replenish the laundry egg with a fresh batch of white mineral pellets. You can also tell it's time to refill when the overall pellet volume inside the larger part of the egg drops approximately 1 cm below the edge.
The black tourmaline pellets do not shrink, so there's no need to replace or replenish them.
When you need to add pellets to the egg, simply purchase separate replacement refills. You can use the egg (the plastic casing) for up to 10 years.

Important Warning
