When filtering the smallest particles, the nano-material used has been shown to have a filtration capacity of 99.73%, drape class II EN 14583.
How Does the Nanofiber Membrane in the SpurTex® PP Nano Masks Work?
The nanofiber is 1000 times thinner than a human hair and is invisible to the naked eye. In the European, we are experts in nanofibers and were the first in the world to develop an apparatus for the industrial production of nanofibers in 2004 in Liberec. Most manufacturers today use meltblown technology to produce nanofibers, but the European company Spur produces them by electrospinning, thanks to which they are able to produce fibers much thinner and achieve the highest filtration capabilities.
The nanofibers are spun into a nanofiber membrane, which can be imagined as a very dense net or filter. The holes in this filter are so small that an air molecule can pass through, but a bacteria, virus or allergen cannot. The nanofiber membrane has been tested to trap sub-micron particles (10 - 400 nm) and is therefore ideal for trapping a wide variety of bacteria and viruses (SARS-CoV-2 virus is reported to have a realistic size of 80 to 150 nm).

Design and Material
The SpurTex® PP nano mask is manufactured using ultrasonic welding technology and its fit to the face is ensured by a pair of elastic bands and a shapeable nose wire, which allows the quality of the fit to be adjusted to the face and the area around the nose and under the eyes.
The standard supplied colour option of the SpurTex® PP Nano mask is double-sided white, or green (outer) and white (inner). Other colour combinations are possible by arrangement.

Maintenance of the Mask
The SpurTex® PP filter fabric nano mask is categorised as a disposable material. Its unique filtration properties are only retained for a very limited time depending on the environment in which it is used. In normal use, the nanofiber filter has a significant concentration of dangerous particles (bacteria, viruses, etc.) in the special nanofiber filter after 3-8 hours and must therefore be changed frequently in contaminated environments. The nanofiber structure itself is not treated with any antimicrobial treatment.
How to Sterilize the SpurTex® PP Nano Mask
It is not recommended to wash or iron the material. The recommended method of sterilisation is with germicidal (UV-C) lamps or an oxidative steriliser (20 minutes on each side). The mask can also be sterilized by light spraying with ethanol, but it must not get wet and must be allowed to dry completely. The mask can be sterilised in this way 1-3 times. Steam sterilization is not recommended. Other sterilisation methods should be discussed with the manufacturer.
How to Put on and Use the Mask (in Accordance with WHO Recommendations)
