Product detailed description

This is a very effective functional mineral coating for the protection of the surfaces of buildings and sculptures, which works on the basis of a physical phenomenon called photocatalysis. The coating is activated by daylight and has highly effective protective and self-cleaning capabilities. It effectively and long-term protects surfaces against the accumulation of dirt (soot and dust particles), microorganisms (molds, algae) and against degradation by UV radiation (breakdown of paint binders, plasters and color fading). It cleans the air from pollutants. Its protective and self-cleaning properties are unlike chemical preparations inexhaustible.

It can also be used as a top protective glaze both on raw, untreated wood, as well as on stained wood or on surfaces that have already been treated with another glaze in the past. We supply it in semi-transparent form with a milky cloudiness, but it can also be colored for different colored types of substrates. The FN NANO® 1 coating is inert, contains no organic substances and does not release any unwanted chemicals into the environment.

One square meter of nano coating FN NANO® 1 cleans up to three million cubic meters of air in a year. The photocatalytic process works if the coating hits sunlight or UVA light.

Ecological product without chemicals, the most effective in the world

How Does Photocatalytic Coating Work?

Two common substances such as air and dispersed molecules of smoke or viruses and bacteria exist together without problems (e.g. in a smoky room). At the moment when a smoke particle touches an illuminated surface painted with a photocatalytic coating, it reacts with oxygen and oxidation, or burning, occurs (but the surface remains cool, this is a chemical reaction). The impurities in the air are then broken down into molecules of water  and carbon dioxide. Photolysis can decompose organic allergens, carcinogens, viruses, bacteria, spores, but also decompose exhaust fumes. In the end, even the most complex organic molecules are transformed into harmless simple inorganic compounds, such as carbon dioxide, water and the relevant mineral acids. Unlike various chemical preparations, the photocatalytic layer can also handle microbes, because it burns all organic matter without distinction.

The whole process is activated by daylight, therefore in interiors where the coating is used it is important that daylight falls on the surface or that the room is lit by special light bulbs. The photoactive layer is porous and has a huge specific surface area. The fact that the process is powered by light, therefore, unlike other preparations, it is inexhaustible and does not introduce other substances into the environment, as is the case with disinfectants, etc.

What Can a Photocatalytic Coating Do?

  • Creates self-cleaning surfaces
  • Slows down the aging of treated surfaces, protects against biological influence and ultraviolet radiation
  • Fights against graffiti
  • Prevention of the growth of green algae, mold and other microorganisms
  • -  Actively removes NOx, SOx, VOC and other pollutants from the air
  • Effectively eliminates viruses and bacteria
  • Eliminates yeast, fungi, spores
  •  1m² of coating can clean 3 million cubic meters of air per year
  • Removes odors (cigarette smoke, exhaust gases, feces...)
  • Repels spiders
  • Prevents the growth of molds and parasitic fungi

Advantages of Nano Coating FN NANO®

  • Against the disintegration and loss of color of the facade

  • Against the negative effects of UV radiation
  • Cheap operation - the whole process is powered by light
  • Extending the life of the facade
  • Long-lasting clean appearance
  • Active component of paint suspension does not harm the environment or human health
  • Nano coating is several orders of magnitude more effective than photocatalytic paints based on silicate, silicone or acrylic.
  • The layer is easily applied to the surface by brush, low roller or spray
  • It is highly vapor permeable  – the stone does not freeze or crack in winter
  • Maximum protection against UV radiation - against chipping and erosion of the surface

Appearance of Coatings

FN NANO® 1 is translucent and suitable for all porous surfaces where we want to recognize the specific structure of the substrate, preserve its clean appearance without being attacked by algae, fungi, fungi and other microorganisms. Photocatalytic titanium dioxide ensures the functionality of the coating even in a minimal amount. The thickness of the coating layer is optimally 5-20 microns. The created layer is semi-transparent with a slightly whitish tinge. The dried paint layer looks like a semi-transparent glaze. The coating can be colored for different colored types of substrates.

The layer is active immediately after exposure to daylight (exterior) or artificial light
with a share of the UVA spectrum (interior). The maximum effectiveness of the coating is at a light wavelength of 365 nm.
The coating is mature after 24 hours and fully functional after the first rain or rinsing with water.

Three Rules for Applying Nano Coatings - What to Watch Out for

1) Always mix the suspension before applying it - when applying, ideally use a tub, not a bucket. If you use a bucket, it is necessary to have someone constantly stirring the suspension. Never let the coating stand for a long time without stirring.

2) All layers must be thin - FN NANO are not covering coatings, they are functional coatings, and in order for the coating to crystallize properly, it is necessary that you always apply thin layers. Never simplify the job by deciding to apply two thicker coats instead of three. The coating should be thin.

3) Never apply paint to waterproof surfaces and always apply paint at least 24 hours after painting

Use Options

  • External facades, walls, concrete structures
  • Treatment of building interface
  • Suitable for tunnels to destroy toxins and exhaust from cars
  • Treatment of surfaces against sprayers (it is advisable to apply five layers instead of the usual three. This creates a very porous hydrophilic film, which the spray does not penetrate well. For the same creation, the sprayer uses up to 5 times as much paint and  ;in addition, its creation can be easily scraped off with a rough brush, then it needs to be restored at the scratched place, e.g. with a roller). Five layers need only be applied to the bottom of the facade and the usual three layers are enough for the rest. Typical consumption  suspension is liter/10 m2)

Composition:

Composite coating on a pure water base. Contains unsurfaced photocatalyst and inorganic binders. The color variants also contain mineral pigments. A very high concentration of photocatalyst (50 - 70g/l) ensures long-term and faultless protection and a particularly high self-cleaning efficiency.

The coating, in accordance with European and global trends, does not contain any organic compounds. The applied layer of FN NANO® 1 coating is mineral and completely safe. Does not release any substances into the environment

Use in Interiors and Exteriors

Exterior

functional coating FN®1 as the first protective layer that will protect the surface and reduce the concentration of viruses, bacteria, fungi and prevent the growth of lichens and other microorganisms eroding the surface.

If the facade is already dirty and attacked by microorganisms, we recommend first washing it, treating it with penetration and then applying our functional coating FN NANO® 1 for the first layer span>.

Interior

For masonry and plasterboard substrates if there are problems with mold, fungi, etc., we recommend first treating the surfaces with an anti-fungal product, letting it dry and then applying FN< /span>® 1 as a prevention against the settlement of microorganisms. Here, it is necessary to provide a sufficient light source for its activation for the functionality of the coating.

Method of Applying Nano Coating FN NANO® 1

Before each application, the coating must be thoroughly shaken in the package in which it is supplied. Perfect shaking is necessary to achieve uniform mixing of the insoluble dust component in the coating. This is necessary to ensure the correct function of the protective paint layer.

It is important to keep the paint moving. In practice, this means that we only pour a small amount of already thoroughly mixed coating and only then apply it. Shake again before the next pour.
To achieve a nice appearance, we always apply the thinnest possible, but continuous and even layer, which we let dry completely before the next coat.

By spraying - optimally three paint (spray) layers. On smooth surfaces, the manufacturer recommends applying the coating by spraying to create a thin, even layer.

Applying with a roller, optimally in three paint layers, is suitable for practically all surfaces. Even application requires some skill.

Applying with a brush (for hard-to-reach places) optimally in three coats

layers is suitable for hard-to-access places, deeper diffusion of the active substance and for treating surfaces that may be affected by mold, for example.

  • Well cover all surfaces that will not be treated with FNÒ layer
  • The layer must be allowed to dry between individual applications
  • Do not apply in the rain
  • For a better effect, we recommend cleaning the surfaces thoroughly before applying the layer

Do not apply to a water-repellent (hydrophobic) surface.

The method of application, tools and equipment used must correspond to the specific conditions, condition and requirements of the object on which the coating is to be applied.

During the application of the coating, nanoparticles of active substances penetrate into the porous structure of the substrate, where they bind in a layer of inorganic binders. Even an island-like layer with a thickness of only 200 nanometers is able to ensure a photocatalytic function of approximately fifty percent, which guarantees many years of functionality and effectiveness of this surface treatment even in an outdoor environment. The applied layer is frost-resistant and highly vapor-permeable - so in winter, the substrate is not
damaged by so-called thawing.

Dilution:

Does not dilute!

Consumption:

50 - 150 ml/m2, typically 1 liter = 10m2 of protective surface in three paint layers. of the surface, we must expect greater consumption - on average 6-10m2 of painted surface from 1 liter in 3 paint layers.

Tool Cleaning:

With water - as soon as possible after use.

Baling:

Plastic containers of 1 and 5 liters

Storage:

Maximum 3 years from date of manufacture at a temperature of 10-25° C, in unopened original packaging. Before use, it is necessary to mix the mixture very thoroughly by shaking in the original packaging. For colored variants, we recommend that, when stored longer than 2 months from the date of manufacture, after thorough mixing in the bottle (canister), mix the suspension (coating) with a stick mixer to ensure perfect distribution of the pigment in the liquid.

Security

Observe the safety measures in accordance with the safety data sheet and valid occupational safety regulations. Keep out of reach of children. Do not eat or smoke while working. Use a respirator or other suitable equipment for respiratory protection when spraying. Do not inhale spray mist, use safety glasses and hood or other means to protect eyes, face and skin. In case of contamination, rinse the area thoroughly with water and treat with cream. In case of irritation, seek medical attention.

Waste Disposal

Deliver the used empty packaging to the packaging waste collection point.
Deposit the packaging with product residues at the place designated by the municipality for the disposal of hazardous waste or hand it over to a person authorized to manage hazardous waste. Follow the rules in the safety data sheet and local ordinances.

The FN NANO company develops and manufactures nanotechnological functional coatings and self-cleaning water coatings that eliminate microorganisms (including algae), organic impurities, allergens and odors.

The effectiveness of FN NANO products was confirmed by independent studies conducted by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, the Technical University in Ostrava and other research organizations.

How do FN NANO coatings work?

The main effective component of FN NANO products are photocatalytic crystals of titanium dioxide (TiO2). After exposure to sunlight, they are activated and – in cooperation with oxygen – create a strong oxidizing environment in their surroundings, which decomposes organic molecules into oxides of carbon, nitrogen, sulfur and water.

The high efficiency of coatings in the form of coatings is ensured by a patented binder that increases the functional area of the TiO2 crystals to the maximum. It prevents the further settlement of microorganisms and at the same time protects the substrate on which they are applied from UV radiation.

FN NANO preparations do not contain any organic substances and are not dangerous for the environment.
